Blazing Saddles Ride
Blazing Saddles was established in 2018 to unite families, churches, and communities and provide help and care to individuals and organizations in need. Our goal is to bring a community together with a common interest in cycling, to help save a life, one person at a time, and heal families that have suffered a loss due to suicide. The Blazing Saddles Ride benefits Team Suicide Prevention, Coffee Bunkers, Hope is Oxygen, and Hope is Alive organizations.

Benefiting Team Suicide Prevention, helping one person at a time
Are you ready to sweat your saddle off in the most exciting recreational cycling event Green Country has to offer? Big Wheel Events, Inc. presents poker rides and run for 2023. Although the Blazing Saddles ride earns its name for being held during the hottest part of Oklahoma’s summer, the hottest part of this year’s ride is sure to be your hand!

Held at your hometown in Bixby, Oklahoma, at Washington Irving Park, riders will depart from the parking lot at 7:30 a.m. to enjoy a tour of Northeast Oklahoma’s beautiful backcountry. With an early start, we hope to avoid seeing any flames unless they’re coming from the speed of your saddle! For convenience, riders will be dealt their five-card poker hand AFTER crossing the finish line. Riders will, however, be able to purchase additional playing cards for $5 each. Rest stops will be stationed approximately every 12-15 miles and provide snacks, beverages, and sag support.

Poker hands will be dealt by professionally trained dealers, courtesy of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Cards will be specially marked and stamped with the participant’s bib number. There will be one Grand Prize winner from each category. Grand Prize winners will receive vouchers for a one-night stay for two at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. In addition, the top ten hands from each category will also receive prizes. Prizes will be quality items such as a Wahoo Elemnt Rival watch, jerseys, gloves, etc. At the end of each event, play your poker hand at the assigned time.
